We were lucky enough to spend 3 days with this adventurous couple documenting their fabulous wedding in La Jolla. From filming their love story to kayaking with the guys in La Jolla Cove and brunch at the Brockton Villa Restaurant with the girls it was so much fun to capture more of the whole wedding experience. (Most weddings are actually a multi-day event when you consider rehearsal dinners and all the other activities with friends and family.) La Jolla itself holds a lot of history for Melanie which made things extra special. Having seen picturesque weddings unfold at the La Valencia Hotel in her younger years it was kind of a dream come true to have her’s there as well. Capturing their story was so much fun. Working with the some amazing vendors like the always fun and creative team from Sara France and Co. and planner extraordinaire Cynthia Zatkin Events made the whole experience unforgettable. Congratulations Melanie and Dan!

These two love birds planned a fabulous 4th of July wedding, complete with some of the best dance choreography we’ve seen in a long while. This was no easy task when not 1… but 2 of your bride’s maids are fully 8 months pregnant and your wedding party isn’t small. But somehow they pulled it off beautifully and even had their parents out there cutting the rug. Emily, Jon and the whole wedding party brought ton’s of positive energy and an infectious enthusiasm to the entire event: great vows, great speeches and lots of smiles and love. Basically, they provided all the ingredients we need to make a great wedding video. Of course, the venue helps too and the Twin Oaks House & Garden Estate is one of our favorite places to film weddings in San Diego. We love the vintage vibe of the space, single location for everything and super attentive staff who keep everything moving along smoothly. Congrats you two!

All the right ingredients definitely came together to make this a great wedding!  Somehow, after filming all these years around San Diego, this was our first wedding video at the Darlington House (and hopefully not our last). Love this picturesque venue imbued with old La Jolla charm from a grand bygone era.  Stephanie & Joe were so great to work with and provided positive energy, love and enthusiasm throughout the entire day, which always makes for great images. Fabulous vendors also helps too, and we had a wonderful team on this one. Thanks to everyone for making this a great event!  Congratulations you guys on a perfect wedding!

We can’t say enough good things about this fun couple! From our first meeting and throughout the entire wedding video process they were so open, enthusiastic and a blast to work with. Side note… for some reason we have had a lot of people coming from the field of psychology this year (5 or 6 I think). Anyway, apparently psychologist make great wedding vow and card writers :-) because we have had some great ones this year. Needless to say, since they are both psychologists we had excellent vows and narrative to work with. As videographers trying to create a compelling story of the wedding day, we lean heavily on the these elements for the narrative structure of the wedding film, which is why we always encourage personal vows and writing cards to each other before the ceremony. We want to create the most personalized videos we can and the more couples open up and share during the wedding day the more unique and compelling the wedding video, we think.

Filming again at the Marriott Marquis Hotel at the San Diego Marina for both the ceremony and reception was a treat with it’s spectacular view of the Coronado Bridge, San Diego Harbor and twinkling lights of the city and bay at night. And working with Holly Ireland Photography is always a great time. Tamara and Nick really planned a great wedding!

We don’t normally get a live symphonic score to accompany our wedding videos, but I can now say with confidence that everyone should. :-) Being a professional musician has it’s rewards and Lauren’s musician friends were quite simply amazing to behold and befitting the palatial grandeur of The US Grant Hotel. Add in great vows, 2 adorable and unbelievably well-behaved doggy ring bearers in tuxs, a super enthusiastic couple and a well planned event and all the ingredients were there for an amazing wedding video. Oh, and did we mention the great vendors…? We absolutely loved working with Maryssa Stovall of Hannah Smith Events who with seemingly effortless skill and impossible calm kept all the moving parts running smoothly and on time. Of all the vendors we work with at a wedding, we tend work closest (literally) with the photographers. So we are always grateful when we get to work with such a great team like Chelsea Anne Photography. They’re the best! And although the stress of putting together a same day edit of the video to show at the reception probably takes at least a few days off our lives, the challenge is totally worth it to see the reaction. What a great wedding! Congratulations you guys!!!
